Churubusco fire units responded with paramedics from the Samaritan helicopter twice in one day on Thursday when two separate accidents sent a male and a female to the hospital in critical and serious condition respectively.

Units were sent to a reported house fire on S.R. 205 at approximately 4:00 p.m. Friday afternoon. Incoming fire units were reporting smoke was visible from 1 to 2 miles out. At the same time, Allen County 9-1-1 was receiving reports that the house was further into Allen County, so Huntertown and LaOtto units were dispatched.

In the early morning hours on Thursday, fog rolled into the area creating severe driving problems for people during their commute. Fire units were first called at 05:30 for a vehicle rolled over on Anderson Rd near 550 East. Police units first arrived to find no one inside, but the fog was so dense, firefighters had to comb the area far beyond the accident scene to ensure no victims were around.
