A cold, icy, blowing snow caused some serious problems for travelers Saturday afternoon, one just south of town that sent four people to area hospitals.
A northbound vehicle and a pickup truck collided on U.S. 33 near McDuffee Road causing both to end up in the ditch injuring four of the five passengers.
None of the injuries were believed to be life threatening, but the driver of the red pickup truck had to be cut from the vehicle by rescue crews, while three passengers in the car were cared for and transported with multiple complaints of pain on all three.
Churubusco fire and EMS crews were assisted by Huntertown EMS due to the volume of injuries.
