Line Street garage burns, family pet perishes

Churubusco firefighters were called to the 400 block of North Line Street Thursday evening for a shed fire. Crews arrived to find a small garage on fire with reports from the home owners that their family pet was still inside the burning structure.

The fire is believed to have started when a heat lamp came into contact with items in the garage and caught fire.

3-Car Crash Ties Up Downtown

A 3-car collision in downtown Churubusco caused traffic problems for morning commuters Saturday.

One female was transported to an area hospital complaining of pain. Firefighters remained on the scene for some time assisting with traffic direction on the busy highway.

Accident on U.S. 33 closes highway

An accident at U.S. 33 & Blue Lake Roads closed down the highway for well over an hour and caused reported power outages in the area after a pole was sheered off at the base.

One person complained of pain, the accident remains under investigation.
