S.R. 9 crash injures two

Churubusco fire, Albion fire, EMS and Noble County Sheriff’s responded to a two-car collision on S.R. 9 near 300 South Friday morning.

Upon arrival they found injured parties in both vehicles complaining of pain and they were transported to area hospitals. Crews were on the scene for approximately 20min.

Barn destroyed by fire

Churubusco fire was called to the Noble/Whitley County line Sunday morning with a report of a barn or possible garage on fire.

Assistant Chief Wayne Krider arrived to find a large pole barn showing heavy smoke and some fire out of the east end of the structure and immediately requested assistance from LaOtto fire and soon thereafter Albion for manpower and water.

Crews found heavy smoke and heat inside the structure which was full of equipment and several dump trucks.

About an hour into the fire it was decided to bring up Columbia City Fire’s ladder 107 to assist with extinguishing the hot spots in the peak of the building.

Crews remained on the scene for several hours, no one was injured and the fire remains under investigation.

House Fire

Churubusco units were called to rural Noble County early Monday morning for a house fire just east of Albion. The fire apparently started in the basement and worked it’s way up a heat duct to the second story of the home. The house was nearly destroyed. Churubusco units cleared at approximately 1:30 p.m.
