Crash on U.S. 33 sends one woman to hospital

Snow fell in the area late this afternoon causing some rural roads to get slippery and highways as well. Allen County was reporting numerous accidents on I-69 and U.S. 30.

Meanwhile Churubusco firefighters, EMS & police were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 33 near 650 East. Initial reports were two cars and a semi with multiple party-pins. Upon arrival all passengers were out of their vehicles and the semi was not involved.

The red SUV first slid off the road hitting a pole and a van following tried to slow down and help losing control of his vehicle striking a pole on the other side of the road.

One woman from the SUV was transported to an area hospital in fair condition.

No other injuries were reported.

S.R. 9 crash injures two

Churubusco fire, Albion fire, EMS and Noble County Sheriff’s responded to a two-car collision on S.R. 9 near 300 South Friday morning.

Upon arrival they found injured parties in both vehicles complaining of pain and they were transported to area hospitals. Crews were on the scene for approximately 20min.

It started simply enough that morning with a “typical” med run, but as the day went on, Sunday became a very busy and long day for some. A very large grass fire on Crone Road kept Churubusco and Thorncreek fire departments very busy as winds swept the fire across roads and ditches making it difficult for firefighters to get a handle on the situation.
There was also the unfortunate incident at the Churubusco station when the driver of this truck cut his turn too short and struck the wall. No one was injured in any of the incidents.
